Medically reviewed by Dr. Patricia Sitnitsky, M.D. · Last reviewed July 2026
Avita MD provides comprehensive primary care for adults at three locations across the Bay Area: Los Altos, Mountain View, and Los Gatos. We accept Medicare, most major PPO plans, and HMO plans. Same-day and next-day appointments are available at every office, and every location has on-site phlebotomy and EKG.
We are a physician-owned practice with 12 providers who speak eight languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Cantonese, Hindi, Urdu, and Vietnamese. Our patients stay with us for years because we track their health longitudinally, coordinate their specialist referrals personally, and make it easy to get an appointment when they need one. More than 890+ five-star Google reviews reflect that approach.
What Primary Care Covers
Primary care is the foundation of your health. It is where chronic conditions are managed, where problems are caught early, and where someone who knows your full history makes sure everything is connected. At Avita MD, primary care includes:
- Chronic disease management for diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, heart disease, and other ongoing conditions
- Preventive care and annual physicals with age-appropriate screenings, cancer detection, cardiac risk screening, and diabetes screening
- Medication management including prescription adjustments, refills, and drug interaction reviews
- Urgent care visits for new symptoms, infections, injuries, and same-day concerns
- On-site labs and EKG so your diagnostics happen during the same visit
- Remote patient monitoring for chronic conditions, so we can track measures like blood pressure and blood sugar between visits and adjust your care sooner
- Advanced and functional testing when clinically indicated, including DUTCH hormone panels, Genova digestive assessments, US BioTek food sensitivity mapping, and 3x4 genetic testing
- Referral coordination with El Camino Health, Stanford, UCSF, and specialists across the Bay Area
Why Patients Choose Avita MD
Physician-Owned, Not Corporate Medicine
When your doctor owns the practice, decisions are made by the people who actually see patients. There are no corporate quotas, no pressure to rush through visits, and no layers of administration between you and your care team. Our providers set their own schedules, choose their own treatment approaches, and have the time to do things right.
Longitudinal Health Tracking
A single lab result is just a number. What matters is the trend. We maintain a detailed longitudinal record for every patient, comparing labs, vitals, and risk factors year over year. If your blood pressure has been gradually rising, your cholesterol shifted, or your thyroid levels moved, we catch it. This is how we intervene early and keep small changes from becoming serious problems.
Same-Day and Next-Day Appointments
You should not wait weeks to see your primary care doctor. We have same-day and next-day slots open at all three locations so you can get care when you need it. Book online or call (408) 495-5770.
Referral Coordination That Actually Works
When you need a specialist, we handle the entire process. Our team sends your records, coordinates the referral, manages prior authorizations with your insurer, and follows up to make sure your care stays coordinated. We work directly with El Camino Health, Stanford, UCSF, and a wide network of specialists. You never have to chase down records or make calls on your own.
Three Locations Across the Bay Area
Every location offers the same level of care, the same on-site diagnostics, and the same access to same-day appointments. Free parking is available at all three offices.

Chronic Disease Management
Managing a chronic condition requires a provider who tracks your data over time and adjusts your treatment as things change. We help patients manage diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, heart disease, and other ongoing conditions with regular monitoring, medication adjustments, and preventive strategies that reduce long-term complications.
Every visit builds on the last. We review your labs, compare them to prior results, evaluate how your current medications are working, and make changes when needed. If a specialist is involved, we stay in the loop and make sure nothing is contradicting or duplicating.

Preventive Care and Annual Physicals
Preventive care catches problems before symptoms appear. Your annual physical includes a full exam, age-appropriate blood work, cancer screenings, cardiac risk screening, diabetes screening, immunization updates, and a review of your risk factors. On-site phlebotomy and EKG at every location mean your labs and heart tracing happen during the same visit. You leave with a clear plan for the year ahead.
When something needs a closer look, we can go beyond standard labs with advanced and functional testing ordered when it is clinically indicated. This includes DUTCH hormone panels, Genova digestive assessments, US BioTek food sensitivity mapping, and 3x4 genetic testing. These tools help us understand hormone balance, gut health, food sensitivities, and genetic risk factors in more detail, so your care plan reflects what is actually happening in your body.

What does primary care at Avita MD include?
Primary care at Avita MD covers annual physicals, chronic disease management for conditions like diabetes and hypertension, preventive screenings, medication management, urgent care visits for new symptoms, on-site lab work and EKG, and referral coordination with specialists. We treat adults 18 and older.
Are same-day appointments available?
Yes. Avita MD has same-day and next-day appointment slots open at all three locations every week. You can book online or call us at (408) 495-5770.
What insurance plans does Avita MD accept?
Avita MD accepts Medicare, most major PPO plans, and HMO plans. If you are unsure about your coverage, call our office and we will verify your benefits before your visit.
Can I get lab work done during my visit?
Yes. Every Avita MD location has on-site phlebotomy and EKG, so your labs and diagnostic tests happen during the same appointment. No separate trip to an outside lab.
How is Avita MD different from a large health system?
Avita MD is a physician-owned practice, not a corporate network. Our providers know their patients by name, track health data over years, and personally coordinate specialist referrals. With 12 providers across three locations, we are large enough to offer same-day availability and small enough that nothing falls through the cracks.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
Yes. Avita MD offers telehealth visits for established patients. This works well for medication refills, reviewing lab results, and managing stable chronic conditions. Your first visit needs to be in person so we can complete a full exam and establish your baseline.
What languages do your providers speak?
Our team of 12 providers speaks eight languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Ukrainian, Cantonese, Hindi, Urdu, and Vietnamese. We want every patient to feel comfortable discussing their health in the language they prefer.
What advanced or functional testing does Avita MD offer?
When clinically indicated, Avita MD offers advanced and functional testing including DUTCH hormone panels, Genova digestive assessments, US BioTek food sensitivity mapping, and 3x4 genetic testing. These help us look deeper into hormone balance, gut health, food sensitivities, and genetic risk factors when standard labs do not tell the full story.
Does Avita MD screen for heart disease and diabetes?
Yes. Avita MD provides cardiac risk screening and diabetes screening as part of primary care, supported by on-site EKG and phlebotomy at every location. We track these results year over year so we can catch rising risk early and intervene before it becomes a serious problem.
